“In my quest for the softest, smoothest skin possible, I’ve tried pretty much every skin-care trick in the book. I’ve scrubbed with facial exfoliators, felt the tingle of AHAs and BHAs. It turns out, the trick to achieving dolphin skin is easier than I thought. This treatment aims to combat aging, eliminate dead skin cells, and remove peach fuzz, all in one convenient treatment. Now I just need a red carpet event!” – Addicted monthly
“Minutes into my session, it became apparent that my skin was not in the best of shape. I guess I haven’t been exfoliating like I needed to (regardless of the fact that I use a Clarisonic facial scrubber every single night!!) She showed me the layers that were coming off. Because my face was in such bad shape, to further promote new skin-cell turnover, I added the peel to my service. She applied one single pass of Chemical Peel (immediately following the Dermaplaning).
While the single pass of Chemical Peel did burn like hell, it only caused redness for up to 30 minutes post-treatment. And because all of the dead skin had been removed (via Dermaplaning) it penetrated deeper. I really can’t believe I waited this long to have a skin treatment of this nature, but let me just tell you…I am in love with my results”. – BC

More about oil dermaplaning
Dermaplaning is a simple and safe procedure for exfoliating the epidermis and ridding the skin of fine vellus hair (peach fuzz). When clients hear the word dermaplaning, they quickly associate the term with the procedure known as dermabrasion, and won’t even consider it as a possible treatment. Dermabrasion is a medical procedure in which the skin is abraded down to the dermis using a whisklike device. There are many complications associated with dermabrasion, including infections and scarring, which is why it is not commonly used anymore. Dermaplaning, on the other hand, is a simple shaving of the epidermis.
Because dermaplaning is a quick procedure with few to no adverse effects, it has quickly gained popularity among cosmetic providers across the country. Using a scalpel and a delicate touch, the provider simply abrades the surface of the skin using light feathering strokes.
This is a great treatment offered to clients who are pregnant or nursing who want a deep exfoliation, but are not allowed to use peeling agents on their skin because of the risk that the chemicals will be absorbed into the blood stream, and may be transferred to the fetus or the child. It is also a first choice for patients who have excess vellus hair on the skin. This hair often causes a buildup of dirt and oils in the follicles, so removing the hair gives the patient healthier looking skin.
Although merely an old wives’ tale, many patients are often concerned that the hair will grow back heavier and darker after dermaplaning. This is not the case. As long as the hair is superficial vellus hair, it will grow back at the same rate and texture as before the treatment.
Removing epidermal skin cells also allows products to penetrate more readily into the deeper layers. This treatment is also recommended to prepare the skin for chemical peels.
Dermaplaning is most often used on patients with rough, dry skin, oily skin, superficial hyperpigmentation, mild acne scarring, or fine lines and wrinkles. The treatment results in a refined, smooth, “glowing” appearance. What would come of your face?
Cocktailed with other treatments
We are HUGE believer that a Dermaplane treatment before any other treatment provides a vital foundation necessary for maximum adsorption for optimal results. Cleaning the skin slate for delivery. All treatments are recommended to do in a series with a Dermaplane being paired in the 1st, 3th, and 5th treatment.
High frequency finishes this treatment ridding away any remaining bacteria to prevent after treatment breakouts.
What you can expect
There is no downtime associated with this procedure. The patient should be educated about the importance of using sunscreen to reduce the chance of hyperpigmentation. Dermaplaning can be done as often as every 3-4 weeks.
The only contra-indications to dermaplaning include numerous raised lesions on the skin or inflamed acne.
We will discuss the 4 products needed after your treatment and sent you home with an aftercare goody bag with aftercare instructions.
