What is Fibroblast
The Plasma Pen targets the top layer of the skin, the epidermis, as well as the deeper layers of the skin to heat fibroblasts. Fibroblast is a common type of cell found in connective tissue. Fibroblasts are responsible for the production of collagen, and are a vital part of the wound healing processes of the body. By targeting fibroblast cells, the plasma pen is able to shift dermal structure in order to ignite the skin revitalizing process. How it works
It works by converting electrical energy into nitrogen gas and delivering it in a precise stream to the skin’s surface.
The Fibroblasting causes micro-trauma or tiny controlled injuries dots to the skin’s outer epidermal layer while also heating and disrupting the deep dermal layers. Every time a stream of energy known as the “plasma arc” makes contact with the skin, a tiny dot is formed, and the area around it is instantly tightened. Pain & comfort

Number of sessions

Best time of year

What are carbon crusts
Carbon crusts are tiny dark scabs that appear on the skin after fibroblast plasma treatment. They resemble small brown dots or specks.
Why do they form
Carbon crusts form due to the controlled micro-injuries created by the plasma device. Here’s the process:
- Plasma Discharge: The fibroblast pen emits a small plasma arc that causes superficial damage to the skin surface without directly touching it.
- Tissue Sublimation: The heat from the arc causes the targeted skin cells to vaporize (sublimate), tightening the surrounding tissue.
- Crust Formation: The vaporized tissue leaves behind carbon residue and dead cells that dry into crusts as the skin begins to heal.

Managing Swelling & Redness

What to expect:
Day 1:
Swelling typically peaks the day after treatment. Many clients experience puffiness, especially around the eyes, and may find it difficult to open them upon waking. Throughout the day, swelling may slightly reduce. Discomfort, mild pain, and some discharge are normal responses at this stage.
Day 2:
Swelling may remain the same or begin to decrease. It’s common for swelling to extend into the under-eye area, even if the lower lids weren’t treated. This happens because fluid can shift between the upper and lower eyelids. A cool compress can help reduce this swelling.
Day 3:
Swelling usually lessens significantly. The tiny plasma arc dots will begin to form small scabs. It’s crucial not to pick at them — they must fall off naturally. Discomfort should be minimal by now.
Day 4:
There should be no pain or discomfort at this point. Swelling, especially under the eyes, continues to diminish.
Day 5:
Swelling is generally gone. Some carbon crusts (scabs) may still be visible.
Day 6:
Scabs typically begin to fall off on their own.
Day 7:
Most or all scabs should have naturally fallen off. Once they’re gone, you may resume wearing sunscreen and makeup. (Do not do prematurely)
Weeks 3–4:
The treated area may remain pink, red, or slightly tender compared to the surrounding skin. This can be part of the natural healing process.
Month 2:
Tenderness should be gone, and the treated area should have fully blended in with the rest of the skin.
WHAT TO DO:
- Keep the area clean: It is important to keep the treated area clean to help prevent infection and ensure proper healing. Gently clean the area with mild soap and water 1–2 times a day starting on day 2.
- Do not itch the area while healing
- Avoid direct sun exposure: Avoid exposing the treated area to direct sunlight or tanning beds for at least up to 12 weeks after the procedure. Sun exposure can cause hyperpigmentation. After healed use the SPF while in the sun every 2 hrs and wear a hat.
- Protect the area with ointment or cream: We recommend using a specific ointment or cream to keep the area moisturized and protected. It will feel dry and tender up to that first month. Having a regular regimen will keep your skin lasting a long time.
- Avoid strenuous activities: Avoid activities that may cause sweating or irritation to the treated area, such as exercise or hot showers, for at least a few days after the procedure.
- Avoid makeup: Avoid wearing makeup on the treated area for at least a few days after the procedure. If you must wear makeup, be sure to use a gentle, oil-free formula and avoid rubbing or scratching the area.
