Ironically, studies show lips are one of the first and most prominent areas that show signs of aging, starting with gradual loss of volume and increased lines that accumulate as time progresses. What causes lip aging
As we age, lips naturally lose hyaluronic acid, collagen, fat pads, and muscle support. This results in thinner, drier lips, fine lines, and loss of natural color. Reduced blood flow also makes lips appear pale or flat. These changes often become noticeable in your 30s and 40s, leading to an aged appearance around the mouth.

How hyaluron pen works
The Hyaluron Pen uses spring-pressure technology to disperse nano-sized hyaluronic acid molecules into the skin without traditional injections. These micro-channels allow the HA to spread evenly, resulting in hydration, plumpness, and natural definition.
What is hyaluronic acid
Hyaluronic Acid (HA) – a substance naturally produced by the body making allergic reactions VERY rare. HA is capable of holding 1,000 times its weight in water. Think of HA as the body’s natural moisturizer and lubricant since it helps keep your skin feeling hydrated and looking youthful.

How many
Your first session is considered hydration. Most clients need 3 treatments to build volume and definition, spaced 2 weeks apart. Maintenance touch-ups are recommended as results fade gradually with metabolism and lifestyle.
Longevity
Results last on average 6–12 months. Longevity varies based on hydration, lifestyle, metabolism, and habits such as smoking. With proper hydration and aftercare, results last longer and look more natural.
What to do before appointment
- Hydrate: Drink at least 2 liters of water daily in the days before treatment
- Avoid blood thinners: No aspirin, fish oil, vitamin E, alcohol, caffeine, or green tea for 7 days
- Arnica (optional): Take 3–4 days before to minimize bruising
- Cold sore history: Take antiviral medication from your physician 5 days prior (if prone)
- No smoking: Avoid for 3 days before and after
- Remove lip piercings before treatment
Contradictions
You cannot receive this treatment if you:
- Are pregnant, breastfeeding, or trying to conceive
- Have allergies/sensitivity to hyaluronic acid
- Have active cold sores, infections, or inflammation on/around lips
- Have a history of keloid or hypertrophic scarring
- Are currently on blood thinners or immunotherapy
- Have suspicious lesions not cleared by a physician
Warning
- Expect mild swelling, redness, or bruising for 24–72 hours
- If you previously had injectable fillers, swelling may be more pronounced
- Very thin or mature lips may bruise more heavily
- Results are not guaranteed and multiple sessions are required
One week prior steps
- Stop fish oil, omega-3, vitamin E, aspirin, caffeine, and alcohol
- Drink at least 64 oz of water daily
- Eat pineapple (natural bromelain helps reduce swelling)
- Avoid smoking
Day of treatment (important)
- No coffee, soda, or green tea
- Drink 2 liters of water before arrival
- Take out lip piercings
- Optional: take an antihistamine to help minimize swelling
Hydrate
Hydration is the key to results. Hyaluronic acid binds to water — the more water in your system, the fuller and longer-lasting your results will be. Dehydration, high salt intake, alcohol, and smoking can reduce longevity.
Risks (rare but possible)
- Mild bleeding, swelling, bruising
- Tenderness, itching, or discomfort
- Lumps/bumps (usually resolve with hydration)
- Cold sore outbreak (if not pre-treated)
- Temporary unevenness or asymmetry
Very rare risks (extremely uncommon but serious)
- Vascular Occlusion: blockage of a blood vessel, potentially reducing blood flow
Early signs: whitening of skin (blanching), severe pain, mottled skin
May require emergency treatment with hyaluronidase by a licensed injector
- Severe allergic reaction (anaphylaxis)
- Permanent scarring or lip texture changes
Aftercare
- Apply cold compresses for comfort in first 24 hours (no direct ice)
- Avoid lipstick, makeup, alcohol, spicy foods for 24 hours
- Avoid saunas, tanning, steam rooms, or strenuous exercise for 48 hours
- Stay well hydrated — water maximizes your results
- Gentle massage may be advised after 3 days, only if directed by your provider
- Contact your provider immediately with any unusual pain, blanching, or other concerns
